Iran says Iraqi student, not Iranian beaten in Russia

5 Nov 2013 - 17:53

Moscow, Nov 5, IRNA – An official with Iranian Embassy in Moscow on Tuesday dismissed news reports that Iranian student had been beaten in Voronezh, Russia, saying he was Iraqi.
Hojjatollah Rahmani told IRNA that the spread of the news was due to a mistake made by a Russian news agency in the title of a news that an Iranian student was beaten by 11 attackers instead of writing an Iraqi student.

The Iranian Embassy asked the news agency to immediately correct the mistake, the official said.

Some Iranian media, citing Russian news agencies, wrote on Monday that an Iranian student of Voronezh University in Russia was beaten by 11 attackers.
