44 Iranian couples hold wedding together

8 Oct 2013 - 10:00

Joined together in happy matrimony; these young Iranian couples gathered in one of Tehran’s holy mausoleums to celebrate the beginning of their lives together as husband and wife. On the anniversary of the marriage between Ali ibn Abitaleb the first Imam of Shiite Muslims and Fatima Zahra daughter of Prophet Mohammed the shrine of Imamzadeh Saleh brother of the eighth Imam of Shiite Muslims Ali ibn Musa al Reza hosted some 44 couples who marked the best day of their life in a modest Islamic wedding.
Joined by family and friends the couples celebrate their wedding day while most of their expenses are covered by donors who participate in an Islamic endowment scheme known as Waqf. They volunteered for a modest wedding and got one as a gift.

The ceremony titled heavenly bounds is sponsored by Iran’s state endowment and charity affairs organization one of the largest charity foundations in the country.
Organizers of the event say that the scheme is held in many cities across Iran annually and aims at improving services to less prosperous young couples.

In addition to love, simplicity and mutual understanding is what brought these couples together. They start a partnership of a lifetime by looking at the essence of life and devotion rather than luxury.
