Russian expert urges West not to exert pressure on Iran

26 Aug 2013 - 15:05

Moscow, Aug 26, IRNA – A Russian expert said here Monday that the West should interact with Iran instead of exerting pressure on the country.
Leonid Shershnev, President of Russias National and International Security Foundation, made the remark in an interview with IRNA.

Pressure policy aimed at making Iran bow down will not have positive outcomes, said the expert.

He stressed that lifting sanctions would help settle the existing dispute over Iran’s peaceful nuclear program.

The new Iranian government, led by moderate President Hassan Rohani has created a proper opportunity for talks between Tehran and the sextet- the US, UK, France, Russia, China and Germany, the analyst noted.
