Iranian researchers build WRA

25 Aug 2013 - 12:52

TEHRAN (ISNA)- Iranian researchers at a research center in central city of Isfahan have made a water-proof product for protecting construction material.

Water Resistant Adhesive (WRA) is a non-poisonous material designed and built through nano-technology.

After pouring the WRA on the material surface concurrent with water evaporation, there is a reaction between the nano-material of the formulation and air carbon dioxide which creates a polymeric water-evading network not dissolved in the water.

The surface would be water-evasive without any change in color.

The non-toxic product is antifungal and anti-algae especially in rainy and humid areas, prevents frost, construction collapse, anti-ultraviolet rays and does not inflict any environment pollution. It can be used up to 5-15 years.

The product can be used in the building frontage, including brick, cement, plaster and concrete.
