Official: North Korean leader Kim Jong-un to attend Tehran NAM Summit

The spokesman for the conference, Muhammad Reza Forghani announced that  North Korean leader  Kim Jong-un will attend the 16th summit meeting of NAM leaders, which will be held August 26-31 in Tehran.

 Muhammad Reza Forghani said that Kim Jong-un will take part  a summit of non-aligned nations in Iran end of the month. It  would be  the first overseas trip for Kim Jong-un during his rule.

Kim Jong-un  is the current supreme leader of North Korea, the son of Kim Jong-il and the grandson of Kim Il-sung.   He was officially declared the supreme leader following the state funeral for his father, Kim Jong-il on 28 December 2011.   He is the third and youngest son of Kim Jong-il and his consort Ko Young-hee. From late 2010, Kim Jong-un was viewed as heir apparent to the leadership of the nation, and following his father's death, he was announced as the "Great Successor" by North Korean state television.

Also, West claims that Iran and North Korea are cooperating closely in  missile projects.
