Israeli regime mulls setting up port in Cyprus

The Israeli regime is reportedly mulling a plan to set up a seaport in Larnaca, Cyprus, to survive potential crippling attacks on Haifa port in case of a full-scale war between the regime and Lebanon's Hezbollah resistance movement.


According to The Iran Project,According to Al Ahad News, the Israeli regime’s Ministry of Transport and Road Safety plans to establish the port within 60 days.

A delegation from the ministry was dispatched to Cyprus to study the establishment of the new porn in line with the regime’s security agendas and scenarios, the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported.

Certain Israeli companies will be in charge of security checks of the port and it is estimated that the construction project will cost hundreds of millions of dollars for the regime.

According to Ynet, the move is part of Israel’s efforts to find maritime solutions for the supply of goods, particularly in response to security risks arising at the Haifa port, in case of a war in the north with Hezbollah.

Reports also pointed to the normalization of ties between Saudi Arabia and the Israeli regime, noting given the fact that the normalization has not come into effect so far, Israeli officials see the move as a positive sign for future developments to reach this goal.
