TEHRAN (FNA)- Cambodia congratulated Iran's President-elect Hassan Rouhani on his victory in the country's June 14 election.


Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen congratulated Hassan Rouhani on his victory in the recent president election in Iran.

In a message delivered to the Iranian embassy in Hanoi, the prime minister felicitated the president-elect on behalf of both his government and nation.

He said the victory showed people’s strong trust in Rouhani’s leadership abilities which would be used in the service of prosperity, progress and welfare of the nation.

He further expressed confidence that bilateral relations would further grow in future.

Iran's Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar announced Saturday evening that from a total number of 36,704,156 ballots cast in Iran's 11th presidential election on Friday June 14, Rouhani won 18,613,329 votes while his main rival Mohammad Qalibaf could secure only 6,077,292 votes.
