Zarif slams Trump for supporting Iran riots in series of tweets

6 Jan 2018 - 19:55

January 6, The Iran Project - The latest rallies in Iran that occurred due to the financial woes deviated from its original path with the enemies' opportunism and turned into riots, which was very charming to the US and its regional allies, who feasted their eyes and mobilized their potentials to back the riots.

In a series of tweets, US President Donald Trump expressing his “respect” for the Iranians participating in protests in some cities of the country, claiming that the US will provide “great support” to them “at the appropriate time.”

The move was seriously censured by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, denouncing trump of meddling in Iran domestic affairs.

On Thursday (Jan. 4), Zarif took to Twitter to scorn US President Donald Trump’s fake support for the Iranian people, saying Trump has not only insulted them, but also made moves to deprive them from the benefits of the JCPOA.

“Trump has an odd way of showing “such respect” for Iranians: from labeling them a “terrorist nation” & banning them from visiting the US, to petty insults on the name of the Persian Gulf,” Zarif wrote on his Twitter account.

In a "breaking" post on his official Twitter account on Friday (Jan. 5), Zarif said that Saudi Arabia and Daesh Takfiri terrorist group are "eternal bedfellows" and both are following US President Donald Trump's lead.

"All endorse violence, death and destruction in Iran. Why are we not surprised," Zarif said.

The United Nations Security Council has dismissed US blatant attempts to intervene in internal affairs of other countries, said the Iranian top diplomat on Saturday.

Zarif released a Twitter message on Saturday, saying, “The UNSC rebuffed the US’ naked attempt to hijack its mandate. Majority emphasized the need to fully implement the JCPOA and to refrain from interfering in internal affairs of others. Another FP [foreign policy] blunder for the Trump administration.”

In his message Zarif referred to Iran’s statement on the situation in the Middle East. The statement was submitted on Friday by Iran’s ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations, Gholamali Khoshroo.

Earlier, Javad Zarif wrote on his tweet late on Tuesday that Iran’s security and stability is based on its own people.

“Unlike cordial regional friends of Trump, the Iranian people are entitled to vote and oppose,” he noted.

The rights achieved with great efforts will be safeguarded and intruders will never be allowed to violate the people’s rights through hostility and vandalism, he reiterated.
