Board of Governors to review Iran's commitment to nuclear deal

10 Sep 2017 - 15:19

IRNA - Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in its upcoming seasonal meeting slated to be held on Monday is scheduled to review Iran's commitment to nuclear deal also known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

The meeting will start work with Director General of the IAEA Yukiya Amano's speech.

The International Atomic Energy Agency in its 8th seasonal report, once again verified Iran's commitment to JCPOA.

On 16 May 2017, the Agency verified that the HWPP was shut down. In a letter dated June 11, 2017, Iran informed the Agency that the operator of the HWPP intended to “start up” the plant on June 17, 2017. On August 7, 2017, the Agency verified that the plant was in operation and that Iran’s stock of heavy water was 111.0 metric tonnes,' IAEA report reads.

'Iran has continued the enrichment of UF6 at FEP.16 Iran has not enriched uranium above 3.67%
U-235 (para. 28).'

Iran's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Reza Najafi had earlier said that the entity's new report on Iran's compliance with nuclear deal reveals that the US officials' rhetoric and media hype has not impacted its verification activities and reporting on the case.
