Regional crises have no military solution:Deputy FM

IRNA - Deputy Foreign Minister for Europe and America Affairs Majid Takht-e Ravanchi said Iran believes that regional crises have no military solution and the only sustainable solution can be achieved through dialogue.


The Iranian diplomat was talking in a meeting with the Croatian Foreign Minister's Aid Gordan Bakota who is currently in Tehran for talks with the Iranian officials.

During the meeting, both officials discussed bilateral relations, latest developments in the Middle East, Persian Gulf and Southeast Europe.

Turning to origins of terrorism and extremism in the region, Takht-e Ravanchi said that Iran believes that regional crises do not have military solutions and only dialogue can lead to basic and sustainable solutions.

Future of the countries engaged in war in the region should be decided only by their people and without aliens’ interference, the Iranian diplomat said.

Bakota, for his part, referred to the status of Iran in the region and described consequences of terrorism for Europe and world as 'hazardous'.

He also called for exchanging views on fighting terrorism and extremism.
