VW begins training Iranian sales team

Financial Tribune- Mammut Khodro, a joint venture between Mammut Group and Germany’s Volkswagen, is sending Iranian sales people to Volkswagen Academy for training.

According to a post on LinkedIn, an employee of Mammut Khodro was the first person to pass the ‘Sales Trainer’ program hosted by VW belivied to be in Germany. He was part of a cohort of 300 other VW representatives from around the world.

VW’s entry in the Iranian market is part of a joint venture with Mammut Khodro, a subsidiary of Mammut Group, which sells a variety of heavy goods vehicles.

In January, the CEO of Mammut Group, Mehrzad Ferdos told reporters, “A deal has been concluded between Mammut and the German automaker Volkswagen.”

He added that a production line of vehicles, later believed to be the VW Polo small hatchback, would be launched later this year.

Another report said the Jetta and Passat sedans are the other likely candidates to be produced alongside Polo under the partnership with the top German carmaker.

The privately-owned Mammut Industrial Group was established in 1992. It is active in a variety of fields, including the manufacture of cargo and commercial vehicles, trailers and prefab buildings. The car joint venture will be the group’s first small vehicle undertaking.
