Moscow int’l security meeting kicks off

IRNA - The 8th International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues started in Zavidovo, near Moscow, with the participation of Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani and senior experts in the field on Wednesday.

In a message to the opening ceremony of the event, the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres called for a collective attempt to improve security in the world in order to resolve various crises, such as the one in the Middle East.

Shamkhani is to address the conference expounding on regional politico-economic developments, Iran’s strategies and experiences on ways of creating grounds for common confrontation with terrorism.

The main topics of the two-day conference, hosted by Russian Federation Security Council, include cyber and intelligence security, regional and global threats and challenges, sources of crises, crisis formation and the way to address them through promoting convergence among countries and implementing joint policies.

Shamkhani said that the conference is a good opportunity to discuss security conditions and political and economic developments of the region, Iran’s strategies and experiences in order to create grounds for common confrontation with terrorism.

On the sidelines with the conference, he will hold separate meetings with the heads of a number of other participating missions, especially Iran’s allies, with the purpose of advancement of joint Politico-Military innovations for keeping local and global peace and stability, and mutual collaborations.
