IRNA – Finance Minister Ali Tayyeb-Nia hailed Iran’s remarkable place in the project to revive modern Silk Road known as ‘One Belt-One Road’, saying that Tehran will have active participation in the major project.

e end of the two-day Forum on Silk Road International Cooperation in Beijing on Monday, Tayyeb-Nia added that Iran has unique and ideal conditions for the initiative project introduced by President Xi Jinping and that the country is also planning to play a crucial role in the implementation of the project.

Given its longtime stance as a country falling along the ancient Silk Road, Iran’s role in the project will be very effective and it is also considering close collaboration in the new project, he said.

Referring to holding of the International Conference on Silk Road in the Chinese capital with Iran and 130 other countries in attendance, Tayyeb-Nia described the event as significant and useful.

Iran is currently engaged in serious talks on banking and financial cooperation with China so that a large number of projects will be financed by the country, he said, noting that of course Iran is seeking to remove banking obstacles at the earliest.

First International Conference on Silk Road International Cooperation opened in Beijing on Sunday and ended on Monday.

According to the Chinese President Xi Jinping, second round of the event will be held in the country in 2019.
