Iran, Hungary highlight agricultural co-op

May 11, The Iran Project – Iran and Hungary have stressed the two countries’ cooperation in agricultural sector, referring to Tehran-Budapest great capacities in this field.

In a meeting with Iranian Ambassador to Hungary Gholam Ali Rajabi Yazdi on Thursday, head of Hungary Chamber of Commerce Balázs Gy?rffy said Iran-Hungary’s agricultural cooperation will provide proper opportunities for the development of two countries’ trade and economic ties.

Referring to Hungary’s commercial capacities in the field of agricultural products, Gy?rffy stated that livestock and poultry are the most important areas where Tehran and Budapest can cooperate.

The two sides can also work together by creating slaughterhouses for the production of Halal meat in Hungary, he added.

Moreover, Gholam Ali Rajabi Yazdi touched upon the visit the two Iranian agricultural delegations made to Hungary and said the visit can be a great opportunity for the two countries to boost their cooperation in agricultural sector.

Emphasizing on proper agricultural capacities of some provinces in Iran, he called for a plan to connect the two countries agricultural sectors.

Several Iranian and Hungarian officials have already discussed Tehran-Budapest capacities to boost agricultural cooperation; namely, Last January, Iranian ambassador to Hungary Gholam Ali Rajabi Yazdi and Hungarian Minister of Agriculture Sándor Fazekas underscored developing agricultural relations.
