Shana-- First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri says that the natural gas distribution network in Iran is one of the world’s most formidable ones.

Speaking prior to attending a ceremony to launch 5 pressure booster stations, the official said the gas delivery network in in Iran is an important one in the world, saying there are few countries like Iran to enjoy such a system for gas delivery to their urban and rural areas.

Iranian Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh accompanied Jahangiri in his visit to the central city of Kashan for launching the stations.

The facilities are located in the cities of Khonj, Jahrom, Safa Shahr, Naein and Kashan which are located in various parts of the country.

Each of the facilities are equipped with 4 25-megawatt turbo-compressors which were installed within a period of 30 months with IRR11,600b of investment.

The projects were all carried out by Iranian developers.

Each of the turbo-compressors were constructed by Iranian manufacturers, too.

Once operational, the five stations will bring NIGC's gas delivery capacity to 110 mcm/d from currently 60 mcm/d.
