22 Feb 2017 - 17:56

Tasnim – Speaker of Iraq’s Parliament Salim al-Jabouri said the ongoing international conference in support of the Palestinian Intifada (uprising) in Tehran indicates that the issue of Palestine is alive.

Speaking to Tasnim on the sidelines of the sixth International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada in Tehran, al-Jabouri said, “This conference, which is being hosted by the Islamic Republic, shows that the issue of Palestine is still alive in the minds of the people.”

Stressing the importance of solidarity among Muslim and Arab nations, he said governments and nations should set their goals in line with upholding the rights of the Palestinian nation, restoring stability to their land, and opposing Israel’s illegal construction of settlements.

The Iranian capital, Tehran, is hosting the second day of the international forum, with hundreds of foreign guests, including senior Palestinian leaders and officials of Muslim nations, in attendance.

The event kicked off in Tehran on Tuesday morning with the motto of “Together Supporting Palestine.”

It was officially inaugurated with an address by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.
