Iran urges Assad to be vigilant in protecting Aleppo: MP

18 Dec 2016 - 13:28

December 18, The Iran Project – Referring to the terrorists breaching the ceasefire, a senior Iranian lawmaker urged Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to be vigilant in protecting the recently-liberated strategic city of Aleppo.

Speaking to a reporter on Saturday, Seyed Nasser Mousavi Largani, who is a member of the parliament’s Economy Commission, said the terrorists want to take revenge of the Syrian army by resuming Aleppo’s bombing.

The liberation of the strategic Syrian city of Aleppo was a heavy defeat for the global arrogance, Israel, and the Saudis in Syria since they had cost a lot to equip the terrorists, he noted.

Stressing that the West is now seeking compensation for the terrorists defeat in Aleppo, he urged Syrian President Bashar Assad and the Syrian army to strengthen their bases to boost the resistance front.

He went on to say that terrorists are trying to demoralize the Syrian army and prevent them from taking the control of Aleppo which was long the terrorists’ base.

Aleppo, Syria’s second-largest city, was fully liberated this week, less than a month after the Syrian army started to drive foreign-backed militants out of their stronghold in the eastern side of the strategic city.

Civilians and militants were leaving the city amid a ceasefire agreement between the remaining pockets of resistance and government forces.

But, the terrorists had violated the ceasefire deal so the evacuations of civilians and militants from eastern Aleppo have been suspended, but after that a new evacuation deal has been reached.
