Iran's Red Crescent offering free services to Arbaeen pilgrims in Najaf

13 Nov 2016 - 14:50

November 13, The Iran Project – Iran's Red Crescent Society (IRCS) is ready to provide free medical and rescue services to Iranians participating in Arbaeen walk from the holy city of Najaf to Karbala.

Since the beginning of the Arbaeen walk, Iran's Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has been offering services to the pilgrims in various parts of the march route.

Establishing some clinics on the way from Najaf to Karbala is among the IRCS services where volunteer doctors are treating the Iranian and non-Iranian pilgrims with the medicines and supplies sent from Iran.

Also, in order to provide more services to Karbala pilgrims, those who have Iranian passport will be provided with free services.

‘Velayat’ and ‘Ghadi’ clinics are the most important IRCS’ health care centers in Najaf which are respectively located in the south side of Imam Ali street and in Imam Sadeq street.

Millions of faithfuls from across the globe are converging on the Iraqi city of Karbala to commemorate Arbaeen, one of the largest religious gatherings in the world.

It is predicted that more than two million Iranians would go on pilgrimage to Iraq for Arbaeen this year.

Last year, around 20 million pilgrims from all over the world, including over 1.6 million Iranians, gathered in Karbala to attend the mourning ceremonies marking Arbaeen.
