Iran receives medal for partnership in 'Rescue, Relief Operations'

Tehran, Sept 24, IRNA – Minister of Emergency Situation of Russia Vladimir Puchkov granted medal to Iran for partnership in 'Rescue and Relief Operations'.


Head of Iran's Crisis Management Organization Esmaeil Najjar received the medal on behalf of personnel of the Iranian rescue team taking part in operations with other littoral states of the Caspian Sea at the end of maritime maneuver.

The Navy Maneuver of the Caspian Sea littoral states kicked off on September 20 in Astrakhan for four days.

In addition to the medal, a certificate of merit was also granted by the five littoral states of the Caspian Sea to Esmaeil Najjar, the Iranian deputy interior minister for the crisis management.

According to the agreement between the five littoral states of Caspian Sea, which included Russia, Azerbaijan Republic, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Iran, the next naval maneuver will be held in Azerbaijan Republic next year.

The five states already agreed to cooperate during emergency situation and the emerging crisis in the Caspian Sea including environment pollution and natural disasters.
