Larijani: Oil deals don't need Majlis approval

10 Aug 2016 - 14:44

Tehran, Aug 10, IRNA - According to the interpretation of the Guardian Council of the laws, the oil deals with foreign companies do not need Majlis approval, Majlis (Parliament) Speaker Ali Larijani said.

Larijani made the announcement at the Majlis open session here on Wednesday in response to a question raised by a lawmaker.

Ali Reza Salimi said all deals and agreements should be approved by the country's parliament.

The oil deals are ambiguous and have not delivered to Majlis transparently, Salimi said.

He stressed that the Majlis presiding board should gain more information about the contracts.
