Zarif hails good political ties between Iran, Guinea Conakry

Conakry, July 28, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Wednesday hailed good political and parliamentary relations between Tehran and Conakry.


Zarif who is in Guinea Conakry following visiting Nigeria and Ghana as part of his West Africa tour, made the remarks in a meeting with the country's National Assembly Speaker Claude Kory Kondiano.

Iran and Guinea Conakry parliamentary and political relation is at a very good level, Zarif said.

He conveyed the warm regards of Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani to the Guinea Conakry national assembly speaker.

Pointing to the historical and cultural relations between Iran and African countries particularly Guinea Conakry, Iran's top diplomat voiced hope for promotion of economic relations between the two states.

Kondiano for his part said that Iran is one of the most progressive countries of the region, adding that the parliament would support development of relations between Iran and Guinea Conakry.

He referred to the upcoming visit of Guinea Conakry parliamentary delegation headed by the deputy speaker and said that after successful nuclear talks, Iran’s progress forward has accelerated.
