TEHRAN, Jun. 19 (MNA) – Iran and Japan have discussed cooperation of their respective Tehran Short Film Festival and Hiroshima Animation Festival.
Saeid Tavakolian of Iranian Young Cinema Society (IYCS), who is participating in Annecy, International Animated Film Festival and Market (MIFA), met with secretary of Hiroshima International Animation Festival and a member of ASIFA-JAPAN (Internationale Association du Film d'Animation - Japan Branch) Mr. Sayoko Kinoshita where they discussed extending cooperation and exchanges between Tehran Short Film Festival and Hiroshima Festival and other possibilities of improving ties in cinema industry.
Tavakolian also met with different festival representatives from France, Brazil, Britain, the Netherlands, and Spain.
Still in a related story, Kamal Parnak’s short film 'Hasti,' will be a participant and competing in 17th edition of Italian Lucania Film Festival. This is film’s second international appearance after it debut in the competition section of the 44th edition of Huesca International Film Festival in Spain, August 10-13 2015.
‘Hasti’ is the story of an eponymous little girl whose mother's death becomes the starting point of an inner journey, which leads her to perceive the death concept. Two other short films ‘Anonymous’ by Salah Salahi and ‘Beach Flags’ by Sara Saidan will also represent Iran in fiction and animation sections, respectively.
The 17th edition of Locania Film Festival will be in three cities of Pisticci, Matera, and South Italy.
