Syria needs Iran’s police experiences: Official

Tehran, June 8, The Iran Project – Syrian deputy interior minister says Syria needs to benefit from Iran’s police ability and knowledge, praising the country’s anti-arrogant positions.

In a meeting with Iran’s police Chief Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari on Wednesday, Syrian deputy interior minister Khalid Abdullah Khezr said Syria needs Iran’s police experiences.

Since the formation of the Islamic Revolution, Iran has actively and logically participated in the regional events, Khalid Abdullah Khezr stated.

Appreciating Iran's support in the fight against terrorism, the Syrian official pointed out that terrorist activities in Syria are due to the US and arrogant countries’ conspiracies.

He referred to Iran’s anti-arrogant positions, and said arrogant powers, like US and Israel are seeking to divide Islamic countries.

He also stressed on the need to develop and strengthen Iran-Syria bilateral ties, saying that the two countries have distinct relations.

Syrian interior ministry delegation, led by Syrian deputy interior minister Khalid Abdullah Khezr, met and conferred with Iranian Deputy Interior Minister for Security and Disciplinary Affairs Hossein Zolfeqari on June 7 and signed a letter of understanding on joint campaign against terrorism and organized crimes, drug-trafficking and borders security.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said in a meeting with visiting Syrian Parliament speaker Muhammad Jihad Laham on June 2 that Iran's support for the Syrians in campaign against terrorism and extremism will not stop.
