26 May 2016 - 12:08

TEHRAN – Iran is working to launch new combined transport routes that will connect Iran's Persian Gulf port of Bandar Abbas to Europe through Georgia and Armenia, the eugeorgia.infoWebsite reported Wednesday.

The new corridor will include a transportation network that includes rail, road and port options that will deliver goods to Bulgaria, Romania and other European countries via Batumi's port.

According to the company’s estimates, the goods will be delivered in no more than 23 days, instead of the customary 45.

Iran currently has a second transport corridor through Turkey where it operates a Free Economic Zone.
