Navy Chief: Military hardware should fit defense needs

Tehran, Nov 10, IRNA – Defense equipments, both in quality and utility, should be reliable and they should be designed and produced in accordance to Iran's defense needs, says Navy Chief Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari.

The Defense Ministry plays a crucial role in maintaining the country's security and increasing Iran's defense capabilities, said Admiral Sayyari at a conference on defense quality promotion on Monday.

Sayyari also underlined the defense ministry's mission in producing military hardware and software and praised the ministry's efforts to further the expertise and know-how of its human resources, describing them as vital in confronting the enemy.

Iran's navy chief expressed hope that by implementing policies set forth by the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei regarding the quality promotion, everybody will achieve desired goals.

The conference on quality promotion in defense hardware was held yesterday at the Ministry of Defense.

Minister of Defense, Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan were also among other military dignitaries attending the event.
