1 Nov 2015 - 16:09

Bushehr, Nov 1, IRNA – The first French container ship has docked in the Iranian southern port city of Bushehr, as the nuclear deal between Iran and P5+1 countries is gradually easing the international sanctions against the Islamic Republic, says the managing director of the provincial Ports and Maritime Organization.

Belonging to CMA CGM, the third worldwide container ship company, the French cargo vessel is 157 meters long and has a waterline of 5.7, reported the office of public relations for Bushehr provincial Ports and Maritime Organization on Sunday, citing Mohammad Rastad.

'The Port of Bushehr has been enlisted as one of the international ports and regarding the investments attracted and the removal of sanctions, now we can expect container ships to visit the port,' said Rastad.

With a loading and unloading capacity of seven million tons annually, the port city of Bushehr is expanding by developing the nearby Negin Island to boost the capacity to 15 million tons a year.
