Iran’s former top nuclear negotiator set to run for upcoming presidential elections

Hassan RowhaniThere are various speculations on the possibility of Hassan Rowhani candidacy in the 11th presidential election which is scheduled to be held in June 2013.
Hassan Rowhani, Iran’s former top nuclear negotiator in an interview with Fars said, “I’m still evaluating the issue.”

Meanwhile, Tasnim News had claimed yesterday that the candidacy of Hassan Rowhani in June’s presidential election has become “final.”

“If I decide to run in election, I would participate independently,” Rowhani told Fars on Thursday.

This is while, Entekhab, the conservative news outlet reported , “this political activist described as being in the Principalist list, apart from attracting a large number of the Principalists, is also supported by Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani and the leaders of the Principalist Front”.

“He has a good feature amongst foreign governments and most think of him as a very desirable and valuable choice for the Principalists, and even the Reformists.”

Hassan Rowhani is a member of the Assembly of Experts, the Expediency Discernment Council and a member of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC).
