Iran ready to provide security for hajj pilgrims: Dep. police chief

Tehran, October 5, The Iran Project –Iranian Deputy Police Chief Brigadier Hossein Ashtari says Iran is ready to form a working group of Muslim Nations' police departments to provide security for the hajj pilgrims.
He made the remarks on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony of the 14th International exhibition of Police and Security Equipment in Tehran. Ashtari noted that Iran is the first country to voice readiness to provide security for Hajj pilgrims in the holy sites of Mecca and Medina, stressing on the role that Interpol can play in the special working group formation.

Speaking to reporters, the deputy police chief highlighted the police efforts to gain independence in the police needed equipment provision, adding that today Iran Police is independent in the supply of 90% of the necessary equipment.

He also underlined the participation of 300 foreign and internal companies in 2015 exhibition that shows 7% growth in compare to the Police Equipment exhibition last year.
