17 Sep 2015 - 17:39

Tehran, September 17, The Iran Project - Iran’s Minister of Road and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi says building airport hotels in the country’s large metropolises is on the agenda.

Visiting AccorHotels' Chairman and CEO, Sébastien Bazin, Iran’s Minister of Road and Urban Development Abbas Akhoundi referred to Iran's efforts to address the shortage and aging of air fleet and the need to buy new airplanes, and said this will increase traffic at crowded airports in large metropolises so the ministry plans to build more airport hotels in a bid to promote air transport.

Abbas Akhoundi stressed on the country’s need to build more airport hotels due to the willingness of Iranian youth and families to both domestic and foreign tourism, and removing the country’s international obstacles that has turned it to the focus of foreign tourists, saying French Accor Hotels company can use this opportunity to invest in the construction of Iran’s airport hotels.

Accor Hotels, having the ownership of more than four thousand four and five star hotels around the world, is the largest brand of tourism industry.
