Iranian schools enroll thousands of undocumented Afghan students

Tehran, August 29, The Iran Project – 48 thousand undocumented Afghan students have registered for entering the Iranian schools, says Vice Education Minister and Head of Centre for International Affairs and Schools Abroad.

Head of Centre for International Affairs and Schools Abroad, Khalilullah Babalou announced on Saturday that 48000 illegal Afghan students have registered for entering the Iranian schools.

Stressing that the problem of registering undocumented Afghan children in Iranian schools have been resolved, Khalilullah Babalou said the circular for registering illegal afghans have been issued to all Iranian schools.

Illegal Afghan children will be enrolled following the three stages of identification, personal hygiene, and determining the educational level, Babalou elaborated.

He added given that the illegal nationals should be vaccinated before entering school, they can register until October 7 (Mehr 15).

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on May 18th that Afghan children, even undocumented or illegal ones, should not be deprived of education and all of them must be enrolled in Iranian schools.
