Unreasonable criticism of nuclear deal, harmful: religious leader

27 Aug 2015 - 22:32

Isfahan, Aug 27, IRNA – Senior religious leader Ayatollah Hossein Mazaheri on Thursday expressed regret over unreasonable criticism of the nuclear deal struck with the western governments, saying such behavior is harmful to the Islamic system.

Speaking in a meeting with Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Ayatollah Mazaheri said that sound and good faith criticism is different from unfair interpretations of the nuclear deal to serve the selfish goals and partisan interests.

Ayatollah Mazaheri called on the foreign minister and his colleagues at the Foreign Ministry to ignore insults and unreasonable behaviors and continue with their efforts to reach the final goal with reliance on the almighty God.

The Ayatollah said that the conclusion of nuclear talks promises a bright future for the country.

The foreign minister, for his part, said that Iran has never been seeking to produce nuclear bomb and in the course of talks, it was proved that Iran believes in logic and dialogue in line with national interests.

Zarif noted that the nuclear deal has paved the way for solving other international issues, particularly those facing the Muslim world.
