TEHRAN (FNA)- Tehran and the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, Britain and France plus Germany) are due to hold their first meeting after the July nuclear agreement in New York in September.

"The first meeting of the joint commission mentioned in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) will be held in New York (on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting to kick off on September 15)," an informed source told FNA on Sunday.

Noting that no special agenda has yet been decided for the meeting, the source said that the next Iran-powers' ministerial meeting will possibly be coordinated during the session.

Iran and the world powers reached a final agreement in Vienna on July 14 to end a 13-year-old nuclear standoff.

A week later, the UNSC unanimously endorsed a draft resolution turning into international law the JCPOA reached between Iran and the 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, Britain and France plus Germany) group of countries over the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program.

Now the US Congress and the Iranian parliament have less than 60 days to review the deal to approve or reject its practice.

Since reaching the nuclear agreement, several European delegations, including the French and British delegations headed by the two countries' foreign ministers, visited Tehran.
