Tehran, August 9, The Iran Project – Interior Ministry Spokesman denies news quoted Hassan Biyadi, former member of the Tehran City Council, as saying that Tehran Mayor Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf is going to launch a political party for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Interior Ministry Spokesman, Hussein Ali Amiri, rejected a recent report that says Tehran’s Mayor is setting to launch a new political party, stating no party has been registered in the name of Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf in the Interior Ministry.
Any party or group needs to get a permit from the Commission on Article 10 of the Parties Law to get engaged in political activities, Amiri stressed.
Some Iranian newspapers quoted Hassan Biyadi, a close figure to Tehran Mayor, as saying that Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf is going to launch a political party for the upcoming parliamentary elections that is to be held later this year.
