TEHRAN (FNA)- The Italian Foreign Ministry in a statement on Tuesday stressed Iran's vital role in battling terrorism, and stressed that a final deal on Tehran's nuclear program will benefit all sides and boost regional stability.

"Italy hopes to see an agreement that reassures the international community over the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program," said the statement.

It also called on the Iranians to “make every effort to consider the most flexible approach possible," describing Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni's two-day stay in Tehran as productive.

“Reaching agreement is in the interest of all,” it further added.

“It is in the interest of peace, of the international community, of regional stability – in which Iran can play a decisive role – of combating terrorism and the common enemy, ISIL. And looking ahead, an agreement could give a considerable new impetus to economic relations between Italy and Iran," the statement read.

During his two-day stay in the Iranian capital on Saturday and Sunday, Gentiloni held bilateral talks with his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif and reinvigorated mutual cooperation in different areas.
