Iran's statement on Int'l Human Rights Day

11 Dec 2014 - 9:26

Tehran, Dec 10, IRNA – Iran's Human Rights Commission issued a statement on Wednesday December 10, which is commemorated across the world as Human rights Day.
'We Iranians have paid heavy costs to win our freedom and protect our dignity and national independence,' the statement said.
The statement added that not only on the Human Rights Day, but on every day of the year, the Iranians send the message of peace, friendship and kindness to other nations and always protect the oppressed and oppose the oppressor.

Iran's Human Rights Commission expresses hope that Iran could, first of all, shape its own society and remove any kind of injustice and then help other human beings all around the world.

Referring to different kinds of injustices and discriminations facing the mankind, the statement said that the world witnessed two world wars during the last century which claimed millions of lives and many thousands were killed in some other conflicts, but the culprits were never brought to justice.

The statement also regretted men's careless attitude towards the nature, saying damages to natural resources during the past 100 years equaled those during the whole human life.

It said that every day is the Human Rights Day and that one can find no hour or minute in which observing the human rights is not necessary.
