Iran offers study opportunities to afghan scholars

TEHRAN, Dec. 08 (MNA) – In a meeting with deputy Chief Executive Officer of Afghanistan, Iran’s minister of science, research and technology offered study opportunities to Afghan scholars.
Pointing to religious, cultural and historical commonalities between the two countries, Minister of Science, Research and Technology Mohammad Farhadi called for implementation of signed MoUs for boosting academic relations.


Farhadi urged formation of a joint committee in order to implement the agreements and asserting that “we are two countries with close ties, sharing our religion and cooperating with each other,” he emphasized on rapid implementation of academic ties.


He stated Iran would welcome Afgahn elites in its universities and could offer them good services by granting them studying opportunities. He also emphasized on the acceptance of 500 annual fellowships of Afghan students in Iran.


Mohammad Mohaqiq, the Afghan official, while appreciating this cooperation, asked for the holding and execution of the university entrance exams in Afghanistan by Iran’s National Examination Organization.


Afghan minister also called on his Iranian counterpart to increase acceptance of Afghan students in majors such as mine and aerospace.


The two officials also agreed to appoint the members of the joint executive committee in a month.
