Heavy clashes between Syrian Kurdish fighters and terrorists from the ISIL Takfiri group in Syria have left at least 18 militants killed near the border with Turkey.
The overnight fatalities included one terrorist of Chinese nationality.

The Britain-based so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported Saturday that the clashes took place near the town of Ain al-Arab, known to the Kurds as Kobane.

The observatory said “heavy clashes” were underway on Saturday in the area around the town.

Over the past three days the terrorists have seized sixty Kurdish villages around Ain al-Arab. Hundreds of Kurdish people have been kidnapped by ISIL terrorists following the invasion of their villages.

Meanwhile, Turkey has opened its southern border to allow thousands of Syrian Kurds fleeing the ISIL Takfiri group enter the country.

Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu told reporters in Azerbaijan that more that 4,000 Syrian refugees were sheltered.

Some 1.5 million Syrians have taken refuge in Turkey in over three years of conflict in Syria.

Earlier, the president of Iraq’s Kurdistan region, Massoud Barzani, urged the international community to use all means to protect Kobane against the Takfiri threat.
