Maragheh, East Azarbaijan Prov, June 10, IRNA - Commander of the Islamic Republic Army’s Ground Forces Brigadier General Ahmad-Reza Pourdastan said here on Tuesday that Iran is the safest country in the region, thanks to the defense readiness of the armed forces.
 Addressing a local gathering, he asserted that the presence of US troops in the region is aimed at harnessing the power of Iran?s military forces.
The readiness of the armed forces has neutralized all threats posed by enemies against the Islamic Iran, the commander added.

He also urged the armed forces to boost their combat strength and defense readiness.
