president.ir- President of the Islamic Republic of Iran sent a message to Angela Merkel to congratulate her on her election to fourth term as the Chancellor of Germany and stressed that long-standing, amicable and constructive Tehran-Berlin ties were a good opportunity to further deepen relations between the two countries.

Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany

I sincerely congratulate your Excellency on your appointment to the fourth term as the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, and wish you success in carrying out this heavy responsibility.

I believe that the long-standing, friendly and constructive relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Federal Republic of Germany have provided a good opportunity for further development of relations between the two countries.�It is expected that based on the diverse capacities available and also relying on your Excellency�s precious experience, we witness further growing of relations based on mutual respect and mutual interests.�In this regard, while respecting the constructive and influential role of the Federal Republic of Germany in negotiations leading to the JCPOA, I call for the continuation of this approach in full and successful implementation of the JCPOA and confronting illegitimate demands in this direction.

Furthermore, given the increasing global threats in fields such as environment, terrorism, regional crises and unilateralism, continuation of joint efforts by the two countries in regional and international fields seems possible.

I pray to the Almighty for your Excellency's health and success and the people of the Federal Republic of Germany's prosperity and felicity.
