IRNA - Iran's Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani said that the UN emergency session on Iran was a humiliating failure for the US.


Speaking in a local ceremony, Larijani described the UN Security Council members' opposition with the US proposal on Iran a 'humiliating defeat' for the US.

He referred to the role of the social networks in provoking the unrests, and said that people's right and the national security should be secured but the social networks should not get closed.

Larijani thanked people's demonstrations in support of Islamic Republic after the unrests and criticized the US manipulation of the UN Security Council to pressure Iran.

In recent days, there were some peaceful protests in Iran against high prices and unemployment that turned violent when some rioters entered the crowd.
