Trump not successful in using Iran riots to his benefit: Russian senator

IRNA US administration has not been successful in taking advantage of recent riots in Iran to its own benefit, a Russian senator has tweeted.

In addition to Russia and China, Sweden and France also condemned US attempts in the UN Security Council's (UNSC) to make use of protests [riots] in Iran for its own purposes. Haley [Nikki Haley United States Ambassador to the United Nations] did not succeed, Aleksey Pushkov said in a Twitter message released on Saturday.

After some Iranians took to the streets to protest against the unemployment and high prices, and, with the provocation of certain foreign and anti-Islamic Revolution media, some elements penetrated the lines of protestors to drive the peaceful protests towards violence; US President Donald Trump overtly supported the rioters assuming that the former US administration had made a mistake about Iran riots in 2009.

Following the recent riots, United States Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, whose animosity is as clear as daylight and tries to push Iran on top of the UNSC agenda through different subjects so that the Zionist regime can get rid of the international pressures and breathe a sigh of relief, was assigned to make scene against Iran in front of the press.

The UNSC members, feeling what she was going to do, did not let her misuse this opportunity for political ends, such as harming Iran Nuclear Deal, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) and warned against it.

The Security Council session on Iran will not affect the course of events in this country. But the US needs it to question the 'nuclear deal [Iran deal known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)]', the Rssian senator said in a separate message.

He described foreign policy of the Trump administration as tensions with the EU, the isolation on Jerusalem [Beit ul-Muqaddas], the failure of the UN Security Council on Iran, and difficulties with China. The confusion instead of strategy.
