Iran recent unrest not related to universities

IRNA – The recent riots in Iranian cities have nothing to do with university and university students, Iran Minister of Science, Research and Technology Mansour Gholami said.

Gholami made the remarks Tuesday in a meeting with Olympiad students.

“The rioters who were trying to enter through fences were stopped by students of Tehran University,” he said.

Responding a question as regard number of arrested students, he said no student was busted, but some were held in temporary detention.

Some cities of Iran have become scenes of riots over the past days.
