80% of work on temporary housing in quake-hit villages done: IRGC Chief
Tasnim Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari said a project to provide quake-hit people in villages in the western province of Kermanshah with temporary housing units is almost 80 percent completed.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday during a visit to Kermanshah, Major General Jafari said nearly a month after Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khameneis trip to Kermanshah, about 80 percent of work on the temporary housing units for quake-stricken villagers has been done.

In many of the villages, about 100 percent of the residents have been provided with temporary housing shelters, he added.

The top commander also said the Khatam al-Anbia Construction Base, a conglomerate belonging to the IRGC, is helping quake-stricken people through providing them with temporary accommodations.

Major General Jafari has visited the affected areas in Kermanshah several times to assess the process of the IRGCs relief operations in the province.

On November 12, Kermanshah was hit by a major 7.3-magnitude quake that killed 620 people.

In order to expedite reconstruction activities, the Iranian Army and IRGC forces are working hand in hand in the province.
