IRNA – Ambassador and permanent representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations said that US ambassador’s ‘show’ against Iran was aimed at diverting global community’s attention from the anti-human and anti-Islamic move to recognize Holy Qud as the capital of the Zionist regime.
Talking to reporters on Thursday, Gholamali Khoshroo added that the show performed by the US envoy claiming that Iran provided Yemen with missiles revealed that the US is seeking to cover up weaponry it has supplied to Saudi Arabia to kill innocent Yemeni children and women.
The US envoy accused Iran of violating UN resolutions through repeated baseless allegations, saying that Iran’s behavior is aggravating every day and JCPOA (nuclear deal) has not changed Tehran’s behavior.
During her press conference on Thursday, Haley appeared standing before what she claimed was debris of an Iranian-origin missile shipped to Yemen and then fired to Saudi Arabia.
Tehran has rejected all those charges categorically.
This is while the US has supplied Saudi Arabia arms worth of billions of dollars to bomb civilians and residential areas in Yemen.
US envoy also alleged that design of the missile is similar to that of those made in Iran.
Unfortunately, Khoshroo added, Americans want to torture a nation and eliminate it through hunger, disease and poverty.
Yemeni people will put up resistance against the bullying and bombing, he said describing US envoy’s allegation as empty and nonsense.
Iran’s UN envoy also said that Tehran’s stance vis-à-vis Yemen is dialogue and peace and opposing bombarding the country which is witnessing a humanitarian crisis and is in dire need of humanitarian aid.
The US should stop selling weapons to Saudi Arabia, Khoshroo said, noting that the US wants to maintain its profits from selling arms even at the cost of Yemeni children’s lives.
In US President Donald Trump’s visit to Saudi Arabia last May, first foreign trip since he took office, an arms deal worth of 460 billion dollars was signed by the two countries to sell weaponry from the US.
