British FM to hold talks with Iranian security official tomorrow

IRNA - British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson is scheduled to hold meeting with Secretary of Irans Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani in Tehran on Saturday.

'During the Saturday meeting both sides are supposed to discuss political and security procedures in the region, bilateral ties and regional developments and also the importance of reviewing international and all-out fighting against terrorism,' National Security Council secretariat said.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Friday that British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson will visit Tehran on Saturday to talk with Iranian officials.

Meanwhile, British newspaper The Guardian announced that Johnson is slated to visit Iran, saying 'Johnson is also expected to hold talks on the Iranian nuclear deal, the British daily newspaper.'

Johnson, making his first visit to Tehran as foreign secretary, will also seek to put Anglo-Iranian relations on a new footing, pointing to the UKs strong defense of the Iranian nuclear deal signed in 2015, added The Guardian
