Iran deal guarantee for global security: Italy

Iran deal guarantee for global security: Italy
IRNA The nuclear deal between Iran and the major world powers constitutes a guarantee for the international security, the Italian permanent representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency said on Thursday.

Speaking to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on the sidelines of the IAEA's Board of Governors meeting, Maria Assunta Accili Sabbatini said that the report by IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano was accurate.

Sabbatini said that Italy regards Amano's report on Iran as accurate and sensible.

She said that Rome calls on all parties to stay committed to the Iran nuclear deal as it is going to guarantee the global security.

The Italian official also said that the Islamic Republic of Iran has been committed to its obligations under the deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

Amano on Thursday told the IAEA Board of Governors that the UN nuclear agency remains to verify Iran JCPOA commitments.

'The Agency continues to verify the non-diversion of nuclear material declared by Iran under its Safeguards Agreement. Evaluations regarding the absence of undeclared nuclear material and activities in Iran continue. As of today, the Agency has had access to all the locations that we needed to visit.' he said.
