UNESCO registers Iran's ancient history book as world heritage

UNESCO registers Iran
IRNA - A genuine book of 'Jami-al-Tawarikh' or 'Rashidi History' written by Rashid-ul-ddin Fazlollah Hamadani kept in Golestan Museum in Tehran was registered as world heritage in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.


Head of National Library and Archives Organization of Iran (NLAOI) Ashraf Boroujerdi announced the news and said that this book is a window not only to the history of Iran, but the whole humanity.

She added that the notion of cultural Iran is a much wider concept than Iran by political borders.

Ashraf Boroujerdi is to explain details of the news in the 23rd Press and News Agencies Exhibition on Wednesday.

The exhibition kicked off work on October 27 to November 3, 2017 in Tehran.

Jami al-Tawarikh is a work of literature and history produced in the Mongol Ilkhanate era in Persia and was completed in 1310 AC.
