Iranian delegation in Astana to attend Syria Talks

IRNA Iran's delegation arrived in Astana, capital of Kazakhstan, on Sunday to attend international talks on Syria.


The seventh round of Syria peace talks was held with the aim to maintain results of consolidated regime of ceasefire in Syria and boost the efforts to pave the way for peace, stability and finding political solution for the Syrian crisis will be held on October 30-31, 2017 in Astana.

The Iranian delegation headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Jaberi Ansari and the Russian delegation lead by Russian President special envoy for Syrian affairs Alexander Lavrentiev and Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkey Sedat Onal chairs Turkey's delegation.

A delegation from Syrian government as well as its opposition groups are attending the meeting.

Representatives from the United Nations, the US and Jordan are in negotiation process as observers.

Before beginning the talks, representatives from guarantors' countries (Iran, Russia and Turkey) will hold bilateral and trilateral consultations meetings in expert level.

The general session will be held on October 31 with participation of all sides.
