IRNA Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari said that Irans global stances and way of fighting terrorism is important for all countries.


He made the remarks at the end of the 11th Conference themed Regional Sea Power in Venice, Italy, on Saturday.

Commenting on the main achievements of the four-day meeting, he said that all the countries are eager to get acquainted with Irans stances and strategies of fighting terrorism.

We maintained during the event that those causing insecurity are present in the areas which do not belong to them and have no interests there, he said.

Pointing to various meeting with navy commanders of different countries, including the Netherlands, Algeria, Ukraine, Russia and Spain, Sayyari said that all countries are seeking to strengthen maritime relations with Iran.

We are prepared to have an active presence in seas and help improve regional security and take actions to fight terrorism in line with promoting global security, he said.

Countries interests in navigation, establishing security in far and near seas, security in major sea areas, strategic straits across the globe and safeguarding global economy were among the topics discussed during the event, he said.

The 11th Regional Sea Conference attended by navy commanders from 50 countries opened in Venice on Tuesday. The biennial confab themed Navy Forces beyond Traditional Role: Attempts to Establish Stability and Security in Sea was also attended by a number of international organizations involved in maritime issues.

Irans Navy Commander Habibollah Sayyari had been invited to the event as a special guest to brief the attendees on the forces experience on fighting pirates.
