Rouhani: Washingtons traditional allies siding with Tehran over JCPOA

Press TV- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has said that Washingtons traditional allies are siding with Tehran over the nuclear deal.

Rouhani made the remarks on Tuesday referring to Trumps recent razzmatazz concerning the domestic certification of the JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action).

US President Donald Trump on October 13 refused to formally certify that Iran was complying with the 2015 nuclear deal and warned that he might ultimately terminate the agreement.

US President Donald Trump has refused to certify the Iran nuclear agreement.
While Trump did not pull Washington out of the JCPOA, he gave the US Congress 60 days to decide whether to reimpose economic sanctions against Tehran that were lifted under the pact. Reimposing sanctions would put the US at odds with other signatories to the accord and the European Union.

Even Washingtons traditional allies, such as Europe, not only refrained from supporting the US government, but also they immediately issued statements and gave speeches announcing their decisive opposition and stressed their support for the JCPOA and cooperation with Iran, said Rouhani.

On Monday, European Unionforeign ministers reaffirmed their support for the historic nuclear agreement, saying the accord is working and is a key part of non-proliferation efforts.

EU foreign ministers reaffirm their support for the JCPOA, saying the accord is a key part of non-proliferation efforts.
Rouhani also said that the Trump administrations disregard for international agreements has put Washington on a path of isolation and discredit.

While slamming Trump over his baseless allegations against Tehran, Rouhani further expressed confidence that the Iranian nations solidarity along with the international communitys support for the nuclear deal will pressure the US into reviewing its anti-Tehran policies.

The Iranian president also noted that the stability and calmness in the market has proved that Iran's economy is now resistible to foreign political pressures.
